. . .

From futuristic to contemporary

I’ve been a fashion fan since my early teens. I chose what to wear for school very carefully even at a young age and drew pictures of garments that I’d like to wear when I’d grown a bit older. I’m a style lover that follows what people wear with curiosity. I might be gazing at you but there’s no judgement in my gazing. I just want to see every detail.

If you see me watching you I probably enjoy and admire what you are wearing and how you’ve combined things. I can also be very practical and pragmatic, with a wish to be comfortable. When all comes around comfort is the most important in style. Anyhow my style and fashion interest finally drew me to a one year full-time course in fashion design and pattern making. The process had been long – my dedication went through ups and downs due to an ever fast changing environment. But making things properly with consciousness, a heart and a burning interest seemed more important than ever.

By the time I had learned how to design and draw patterns properly my style had changed from cubistic and futuristic and always changing to practical, smart everyday use. Also the world had changed to a fast fashion environment with more fans than ever. The time to slow things down and start educating others if you’re a fashion fan had come. I decided for myself to never produce clothes that could be considered a waste of time or space, nor of our nature.

This has also influenced my way of shopping and dealing with all the clothes hanging about in my wardrobe since a long time. Some I will collect forever just for the sake of glancing at them again – the colours, the cut, the pattern.

Others I’ve put on the sewing table and either do I repair them if it’s doable, or I change them with a simple cut, or I reuse them in a different way than before, combined with other garments or accessories. Styled in an updated way.

Abronnhagen has no own production at the moment but functions as an influencer to raise awareness around our clothes consumption. I will of course let you know as soon as there is any kind of production activity going on. Until then I sell my own old clothes, which I think is in line with our new ethical thinking around all this. Please see My Vintage for updates.

Please help contributing to a better world by planning your purchases, matching new pieces with what’s already in your closet and most important of all: using them over and over again. Garments do last if they’re out of good quality and are taken care of. I would love it of somebody wore my garments for a long time. ♡
